You may have noticed a bit of a trend recently, but for those who haven't, car and automotive based photography has definitely featured more heavily in my personal work over the last year, and having the opportunity to spend a few hours at the extremely well attended Barry Festival of Transport on June 11th was a no brainer.
Like some of the other shows and car events I have photographed and documented in my blogs, I have visited this show on a number occasions over the years, because it always featuring lots of epic vehicles, and is also really diverse in what vehicles people bring along, which for me makes it a lot more interesting from a photography point of few, instead of perhaps having too many of one thing on display.
Diversity is key in this show, and as it has expanded over the years from its initial premise as a bus and transport show, into the multi represented vehicle extravaganza it is today.
Such a mix was on offer, from Norton bikes, to scooters, American police cars, camper vans, Mini’s, Ferrari, Custom, AC and Aston Martin, among many more.
I photographed this event with my much used Canon R6 coupled with the dependable RF f1.8 50mm STM prime lens for the tight details, crops as well as being able to step back to capture the slightly wider shots.
With such an array of awesome historic vehicles on display, I can’t recommend this show enough, and hopefully date depending, I will be back again in 2024 to document all the cars, vans, buses and bikes on offer.
